Osborne Mt.

Brian, Nick, John and I at Osborne. Not much snow. Brian said it looks like June out here. I like June! I was testing some lighting stuff...still working out some kinks. Shot of me by Nick!

Christmas Eve Ride 2009

Back at V.F. for some exploring. Great day for a ride. John, Chris and Phil. Looks like we found a Sasquatch also, you can tell by the big hands and classic Big Foot walking style...

Ridin' in Yelm

John and I did a little exploring in Yelm. It was a wet, soggy day, with a thick coating of leaves. Good Turkey Day ride.

Triple Crown

Brian and I rode the Triple Crown last weekend. It was long it was hard and we kicked it's a$$! 62 miles, and 12,000 ft of climbing. I had to use a stick for a front shifter, we took some pretty long breaks to make sure we were eating enough, it was a good day. We saw a lot of trail.

Tiger

We rode at Tiger Mountain last night. Brian and I rode up the trail. The whole place keeps getting rockier and rockier. I took a few pics with my new pocket cam (Lumix DMC-LX3). And a video of Matty on a log ride

Banner Birthdays

Matt and Patrick had birthdays, we had our new guy Henry out, and lot's of time was spent on the log rides. I had the Access out after a long break in trying to figure out where the creak was.

Skookum

We had a nice trip down Skookum, and stopped a number of times for pictures.

Bear Tracks

This is at the great view corner halfway down Suntop. We found bear tracks down the trail.

Suntop and Skookum

These are from Skookum by the river and the top of Suntop. I was ready to puke at the top, that rarely happens to me.

Crystal Lake

After riding the Suntop/Skookum loop, Brian and I made a brisk hike up to Crystal Lake to mark off another hike in his 50 Hikes of Washington book. We ran down, then waded in the ice cold stream at the trail head. The end to a pretty hard day on the quads.

Clown Shoes

Before our last ride at Capitol, I forgot that I didn't forget my shoes. (long day) This was taken when I was thinking I'd be wearing John's boats.

The Thursday Night Crew

This was a great night for riding, and a better night for photography (for me anyway). My wrist is about 90% and I'm able to do most of what I would normally try, but I didn't have a lot of attempts in me. My wrist was tiring out pretty fast. I was wishing I had my platform pedals! Need to build up the Skookum!

Tricks

Everyone was doing their best tricks.

T-Money and Low Dollars

Tony had about fity-cent of tire pressure here...I thought Matty was the king of low tire pressure.

Matt-E

A couple sweet shots of Matty. His new Stinky rules.

Eli's Wild Ride

We all looked at this line and thought we'd like to try it, then decided it was way too impossible and full of painful consequences. Eli said he wanted to try it, we all started heckling him and saying we didn't want to miss dinner for taking him to the E.R. He put his game face on, it it with a ton of speed and nailed it. It was a thing of beauty.

Boat Drop

Eli, Tony, Matty. This was a pretty fun line, and not too much risk.

Urban Waterfront B/W

A couple b/w images from our trip to the waterfront in Tacoma. Matty, Brian, Tony and Eli were on fire, John and I mostly watched...the camera is a good excuse sometimes!

M's First Singletrack Ride with the Crew

It was great to get M out on the trail. He did really well. In one spot you have to go between two trees that has about as much room as your handle bars. He made it through, but when I asked him about it, he said he was afraid so he closed his eyes! Yikes!

Banner Mechanicals

It was a great ride, but filled with mechanical problems. Flats and broken freewheels were the hot topics for this Thursday's ride.

This was a fun morning with a friend's kids. We are hoping to get something published in a mountain bike mag.

North Fort at Night in the Snow!

It was a great night to be out on bikes. The snow made it hard work and the three of us were at redline a lot, and had to stop pretty often to keep from blowing a gasket. Riding in the snow is heavy work.

Yelm in the Snow

Check out the chundry ice chud on Brian's spokes!

Snowy Ride in Yelm

John, Brian, Tony and I had a really great ride in Yelm. There was a good amount of snow, but not too much, we were able to ride pretty well without pushing.

Ipsut Campground

I road out to Ipsut Campground today, and explored some of the trails running. The washout from a year and a half ago is pretty amazing to see. It turns out to be a pretty cool bike ride really, and the trail running was a nice bonus!

State Patrol Trails in Kennewick

Here's a set of pictures from the State Patrol Trails in Kennewick, WA. I haven't had any luck in getting the Thursday Night Riders over here, but I will some day and they will love it! These are great trails, these pictures don't catch the railing roller coaster of fun to be had here.

Growler's Gulch, Belgian Gulp

Juan Grande and I met up with P-Town Johnny B. and the quadriceps brothers, they put us through one of the most grueling singletrack sessions we've had in a long time. Climb/descend, climb descend, one after another after another. Fun, fun trails, smooth, rolling, lots of small log overs, and again steep climbs and steep descends. The quadriceps from Portland punished us on the climbs, but Juan and I pulled them back on the descends and the more technical trail sections. We were superdone in a superway, but after a few Belgians, we were feeling a bit better.

Air-Time in Ashford

More DJ

Brian's neighbor's kid brought a tractor over and we had a dirt jump in about an hour. We had a bunch of kids and a few crusty old guys jumping like crazy all day!

North Fort

Matty and I rode the log ride this time with the new addition of the downed branch over it. I was riding on half a tire over the final 4x8 (not seen in photo), glad I have wide tires! Jeff was back, he got his stem cap from John - "mirror mirror who is the fairest..."

Next Gen

Marcus got on Karen's dusty bike today and rode 11 laps around our neighborhood, that's about 10.5 miles! He was testing out the shifting and the shocks - he was psyched, and so am I...for things to come. A next gen Thursday Nighter is right around the corner!
