Rassmussen Takes Solo Win

Rassmussen took the epic mountain stage 8 in classic Rassmussen style. The Rabobank Dane bolted in the middle of the stage on the steepest pass of the day, and never looked back. You got to love a guy that can win solo on the most difficult days of the entire Tour! Nice job! I'd love to see him surprise with a decent TT. I won't hold my breath though...
Not much scoring today, Tony and John got points for show on Mayo and Rass.
1. Gerald-57
2. Adam-26
3. John-23
4. Tony-12
5. Karen-10
6. Rooster-4
On a side note: What was up with Valverde/Evans/Mayo? They get the lame contender award for their lack of courage today. The killer break was chase 1, which included Moreau, Valverde, Evans, Mayo, Contador, Schleck and Kashechkin. The later three are working for someone else right now so they can be forgiven for not helping the break. Christophe Moreau was working his a$$ off, and trying to get the group organized, but no one would have any of it. All Valverde wanted to do was stick as close as possible to Moreau's wheel, then he weaseled by him at the end for 3rd overall. Moreau, Evans and Mayo could have had another minute on the Vino group if they had just traded pulls, too bad, their loss. Kloden looked very strong and I can't believe he's still working for Vino. 'Til Monday!
