Great Dane Breaks Disco Challenge

photo: AFP
Rasmussen outlasted an early break by Sastre and Mayo, and left Evans reeling midway through the final climb of the day. Then the Disco boys made their valiant efforts to no avail as the Dane simply walked away in the last kilometer. Barring a doping DQ, Rasmussen has just launched himself into cycling history and transformed himself from Polka-King to the Great Dane. He has been denying the accusations against him and I hope he is clean. Today he had this response to the drug questions, "Now I understand what Lance Armstrong went through in seven years. My respect for him is growing day by day. The only good thing about the Vino' situation is that it proves that the system is working. To that I can only add that I have 14 negative tests at this Tour." Let's hope he has 14 more negative tests!
On Pool news, Gerald picked the Great Dane for the win, John and Tony had show points. Gerald is on a long breakaway at the moment, but his final GC is full of Astana...
